rainbow

rainy days..
just makes me not get up in the morning..
where i feel so gray..
colorless..

on those types of days..
i just sit in my room, sipping on a cup of coffee,
reflecting my life and all the frustrations that come along with it..
feeling a heavy weight on my shoulders
from the stress from the laundry list of things to do

then comes the radiant sun sneaking behind the clouds
lighting up everyone and everywhere the sun rays kiss
it makes me feel like i can do anything..
lifting my spirits and stirring my inspiration and passion in life

like the rain..
my life is full of hardships
that at times i feel i will not be able to overcome

but with the sun..
i get challenged by my own hesitation
to take a leap of faith in myself

with each experience faced
the good and the bad - similar to rain and the sun
i learn that i need a bit of both in my life to become
the strong,
intelligent,
and beautiful
woman that i am

i realize now that it takes both rain and sun to make a rainbow
